Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has a range of
activities aimed at integrating education and the innovation process. Recognized
for outstanding undergraduate education in engineering and science (including a
Number 1 Ranking by U.S. News and World Report for three years in a row), Rose-Hulman
is seeking ways to use new product projects to enhance the learning experiences
of its students and development of its faculty. The Institute’s strategy is to
offer a range of activities from work at Rose-Hulman Ventures which is primarily
focused on business success with educational benefits to on-campus project work
solicited and promoted by Engenius Solutions for educational outcomes with
potential business benefits.
ROSE-HULMAN VENTURES is a technology-based business
incubator and product-development center which seeks to foster creation and
growth of innovation-based businesses by providing easier access to
infrastructure, state of the art equipment and professional technical support,
business support, and capital, with new sources of economic vitality for
Indiana.
Over twenty technology-based client companies have taken
advantage of the comprehensive services at RHV to bring new products to the
market faster than their competition. The new products range from the life
sciences and medical services and devices to roadway construction equipment and
a software product for use by state child support enforcement programs. In
addition to the faculty and students who work with clients' new technology,
Rose-Hulman Ventures has a staff of about a dozen technical professionals with
industrial experience in managing projects to meet deadlines and requirements.
is Rose-Hulman's new student managed venture to increase
educational quality through the integration of discovery and commercialization.
Using a web based communication platform, Engenius Solutions is seeking
innovative ideas for technical development by highly skilled student teams and
possible business initiation. They are seeking ideas both on campus and from
anywhere in the world, but they are particularly interested in connection to
students at other schools whose skills may be complementary. In addition, the
Engenius Solutions site will promote discoveries for commercialization steps.
For example, they hope to have ideas that business school teams could explore
for commercial feasibility. More information will soon be available at
